Why would I benefit from counselling?
"Psychotherapy and counselling should make people aware of themselves and of the difficulties which they face. This then gives them the freedom to choose for themselves".
Professional counselling and psychotherapy available for all areas of Stockport, Tameside, East Cheshire and the High Peak .
Ever since the current COVID-19 pandemic threw all our lives into disarray, we have become sadly used to a range of hitherto unfamiliar words and phrases like lockdown, social distancing, the R number, test and trace and “we’re all in this together”. But what if you don’t feel that way? What if you feel excluded, not included? Fearful rather than reassured?
We are currently living in unprecedented times and it seems that the only constant characteristic aspect of our current situation is uncertainty. Many of us struggle to cope with this persistent uncertainty in our lives and this inevitably leads to abnormally raised levels of anxiety and fear. Fear for your health and those close to you, the grief arising from bereavement, the strain of social isolation and the financial consequences of unemployment and loss of financial security, all undermine your morale and sense of purpose. You are in acute need of support but don’t want to burden friends or family because they’re also struggling with similar levels of stress.
If so, I believe that counselling would be of real benefit to you. Counselling provides an opportunity to explore feelings, values and purpose in a safe, confidential setting - it's always a good time to talk.
I'm Rory and I offer a safe and confidential evironment with the encouragement and support you need to hear your own inner voice. Although you are ultimately the only person who can take steps to deal with your issues, the support and encouragement of a counsellor or psychotherapist such as myself can help you to find the insight and understanding as how best to cope with or overcome some of those problems.
